Puzzle explanation
The extra letters from clues spelt out “Fair fa’ your honest sonsie face”, the first line of Robert Burns’ Address to a Haggis. The other four subjects of Burns’ Addresses hidden in the grid (in straight lines) were the Unco Guid, the Deil, the Toothache and Edinburgh. AULD LANG SYNE in the NW-SE diagonal was a hint to Robert Burns, not one of the thematic addresses.
