The unclued grid entries were all types of wheel (with “wheel” omitted): FERRIS, MILL, ESCAPE, GEAR (not REAR, whose unchecked first letter would be the same as the unchecked R in CATHERINE), DAISY, CATHERINE, CART, STAR, PRAYER. The corrections to clue misprints spelt out “highlight thematic quotation in symmetrical form”. The highlighted quotation, forming a circle, was “The wheel is come full circle”, from King Lear.
