Extra letters in mixtures gave “The Chambers def. of ‘circular’ goes ...” and letters omitted from wordplay in normal clues gave ROUND AND, located in circular fashion in the grid, so that it could be read thematically ad infinitum. The Chambers entry for “circular” is circular in that it includes “in the form of a circle”, while a circle is defined as “a circular object”.
