Puzzle explanation
The grid contains a flattened representation of a Rubik’s Cube® with colours written on the six 3x3 faces, to be coloured accordingly (close variations were accepted). Only AUBERGINE (from corrections to down clues) appeared normally in the original arrangement. Corrections to Across clues spelt out “turn steel blue”. Hence rotating the relevant face 90 degrees clockwise to orient STEEL BLUE normally, appropriately shifting the adjacent letters, completed the colours on neighbouring faces. Corrections for the Scrambled clues gave “Rubik’s Cube” (scrambled).
