City Crossing Tour by Merlin

Puzzle explanation

Corrections to misprints spelt out “shade river blue; Königsberg; Euler”. Cells containing the letters of RIVER give a rough map of Königsberg’s river, crossed by seven bridges as in the classic problem. Euler proved that it is impossible to follow a continuous route using each bridge once. The problem was resolved here by adding an eighth crossing (a tunnel). Any straight or curved lines making the right connections were accepted.
